Overview

Academic Initiatives are programs, services and facilities that support the academic needs and goals of Â鶹¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ residential students. In Housing & Residential Education, we promote the academic success and intellectual development of our residents and strive to enhance their ability to graduate within 4-6 years. The Academic Initiatives team is committed to establishing relationships with faculty and staff in order to maximize the flow of academic resources for our residents. Most initiatives provide learning experiences and/or opportunities to interact with faculty and academic support outside of the classroom.

The Academic Initiatives team at Â鶹¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ offers year-round academic engagement opportunities. Below are descriptions of our current programs and initiatives, including those in which we partner with other offices.

Get Wise Centers

Get Wise is an after-hours academic resource and student support service center located in Atlantic Park Towers (APT) and Parliament Hall (PAR). The centers serve as an abbreviated ‘one-stop shop’ for academic assistance. During operational hours, the APT Center is staffed with a desk assistant and available for open use.

Parliament Hall

The Parliament Hall Get Wise is unstaffed, and residents of PAR, TAL, and UVA may request a key from the front desk to access the study space.
