The Freshman Convocation is a deeply traditional ceremony that signals the beginning of a student's college career, much like graduation serves to mark the completion of a degree. This special event welcomes the incoming class with words of wisdom and inspiration from our Distinguished Teacher of the Year and our Distinguished First-Year Student of the Year.

• The ceremony will be led by your university president.
• You will celebrate the start of your journey as a college student with your peers.
• You will learn about important Â鶹¾«Æ·ÊÓƵservices and resources.
• You will be given a special blue and silver graduation cord to wear at commencement. Put your cord in a safe place where it can remind you of your commitment to academic success and to finishing your degree in four years or less. Cords will be handed out at the end of the ceremony.

Ìý Only those freshmen attending will receive a cord.

• There will be two Freshman Convocation ceremonies to accommodate the size of the incoming first-year class. Please attend only the convocation ceremony that is designated for your college.
• The Freshman Convocation will be held in the Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium on the Boca Raton Campus.
• Students must bring their Owl Card or Event Pass from Owl Central to check in.
• Doors open 45 minutes prior to the ceremony, and you should be seated no later than 15 minutes prior to the ceremony. The doors will be locked once the ceremony begins.
• Faculty will be wearing their academic regalia.
• Business casual dress is preferred for students.
