Structured study Groups (SSG)
CLASS is introducing a new academic support program, titled Structured Study Groups (SSG). This program focuses on facilitating student conversation and connecting with course content on a deeper level. SSG Leaders are responsible for hosting several 90-minute sessions week for students to drop into. Leaders work closely with teaching faculty to make sure their sessions closely follow the course syllabus and cover approved content.听
We recommend students join SSG early and continue to attend throughout the semester to stay up-to-date on the latest SSG information.
SSG is customized to each course section, therefore, it is important to make sure you check with your SSG leader about the details of SSG in your course.

What does an SSG session look like?
An SSG session will look distinct for each course discipline. Sessions are 1.5 hours long and will involve the selection of faculty approved topics to review. SSG sessions will focus on study strategies and techniques with the goal of helping students become better learners. There will also be opportunities for specific course content review.
