麻豆精品视频 has launched a new interdisciplinary doctoral program, a Ph.D. in Comparative Studies with a concentration in Design, Aesthetics, and the Arts (DAA). We are actively recruiting Ph.D. students for this exciting new degree track. We are able to offer a handful of fully funded opportunities. The deadline for Fall admission is January 15. For candidates not seeking Ph.D. fellowships, the deadline is March 1.

The 麻豆精品视频School of Architecture is currently in the midst of a radical transformation. In order to advance the discourse of architecture, innovative research methods need to be combined with professional practice constraints. As a result, we are actively building three new research labs:

  1. Creative AI Lab听- directed by听 Professor Daniel Bolojan
  2. Microbial Assemblies Lab听- directed by听 Professor Laura Maria Gonzalez
  3. Foldable Structures and Materials Lab听- directed by听 Professor Joseph Choma
  4. Interactive Machines Lab听- directed by听 Professor Luis Arturo Pacheco
  5. Architectural Products Lab听- directed by听 Professor Dustin White

How will technology change the practice of architecture? How do we reduce the carbon footprint of how we build? How do we design for climate adaptation? These are some of the questions these three research labs will explore.

Information for International Applicants

International applicants should review the 麻豆精品视频Graduate College resources and information for prospective international students at听 International Student Services.

A step-by-step guide to graduate admissions for international students may be found at听 International Admissions Overview.

For international students, transcripts must evaluated by a third party organization. For more information, see听 Foreign Student Credential Evaluation Services.

For the I-20, you will need your acceptance letter, any offer of funding, and personal financial information. You can find more information on this听 here.

The I-20 is half of your visa; the other half is from your embassy.

The Embassy grants visa and passport and the I-20 is basically a visa letter issued by the college. Please be aware that even if visa doesn鈥檛 expire for several years, if the I20 expires before, the visa is no longer valid. The College only issues I-20s if you have enough funding for a full academic year (tuition and living expenses). It will add any other family members (parents, spouses, children) to your expenses.

To prove funding: get a letter from the bank that shows you have enough money (make sure the letter is dated and that it shows the currency equivalency). The bank account can be your account, your parents鈥, or your guardian鈥檚 (if it鈥檚 a guardian鈥檚 account, you must have a letter from the bank and from the guardian that says that money is available to you).

You need medical insurance proof in order to register for classes. Contact听 Student Health Services. For more information about FAU's student insurance plan, see听 Enrollment and Waiver Process for International Students.

Housing on campus 听can be really useful for at least the first year as you get your bearings. Also, if you don鈥檛 have a vehicle, on campus housing is convenient.

You need to get your Social Security number in order to be paid. You must wait ten days after you land to apply. After ten days, go apply for social security number, and then update records with HR.

Social Security Administration
Address:听 621 NW 53rd St, Boca Raton, FL 33487
Phone: 听(800) 772-1213

If you need an extension on your I20, the same process must be repeated.

If you have a GTA, you鈥檒l have to attend the听 International student teacher orientation. If the schedule conflicts with the English Department GTA orientation, let them or your advisor know, and a makeup session will be scheduled for you.
