* Chinese Fast Track (starts June 25) is designed for people who have no prior knowledge or minimal knowledge of Chinese Putonghua (Mandarin). Pinyin, Chinese (simplified) characters, and English are used in a parallel format throughout the whole course so as to meet the needs of different learners. It will give students the opportunity to gain confidence in using vocabulary and grammar most relevant to everyday situations.

A language can be learned at any age, but the sooner we learn one, the more we get to enjoy it.

The Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Comparative Literature (LLCL) is offering non-credit continuing education classes focused on Language and Culture. Whether you are a professional wanting to further your skills in a foreign language, are looking to fulfill a linguistic or cultural interest, or are simply trying to connect with others, feel free to join our community.

We offer language classes in American Sign Language, Arabic, French, Modern Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish at a price that is affordable.

English courses are offered by the聽Intensive English Institute.

FAQs

Returning students from the previous semester benefit from a $25 discount if they sign up at least 4 weeks before the start of the semester. All other students benefit from a $15 discount if they sign up at least 4 weeks before the start of the semester.

The program does not issue refunds after the student has attended the first class. A full refund is however issued if the class is canceled for internal reasons (e.g. class cancellation for instance).

Anyone can attend since the Continuing Education Language Program offers non-credit classes for a fee. In other words, these classes are open to the non-麻豆精品视频population as well as the 麻豆精品视频population.

Yes they can. However they need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. (The guardian or parent is not required to pay tuition and may participate in class.)

All classes are taught in person, usually in the classrooms of the Culture and Society Building of the Boca Raton campus.

The 麻豆精品视频parking policy is as follows: Between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p. m. all vehicles, except those covered in subparagraph (5)(a)(2), must park in appropriate designated lots, unless posted otherwise. After 6:00 p.m. and before 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and anytime on weekends, vehicles with valid permits may park in any lot unless posted otherwise. Please note that the lots immediately facing the Living Room Theaters are reserved for Living Room Theaters customers and may not be used for parking with permit from 6.00 p.m to 6:00 a.m. Students parking on this specific lot while being a customer of the Living Room Theaters should keep a receipt as proof in order to waive any potential citation.

The beginner level is open to students who have never studied the language or to students who would like to start from the basics. The intermediate level is open to students who have a basic understanding of the grammar of the language. The advanced level is open to students who have already acquired a functional vocabulary and a robust grammar and are willing to transition to conversational skills. The advanced conversation level is open to students who exhibit some level of fluency of the language and would like to maintain or expand their linguistic skills. Please contact the program director or instructor to find out which level is best suited to your current level.

The easiest way to determine your level is to take our Spanish/French Placement test. Please follow the directions posted at /artsandletters/llcl/placement/ and report your test score to us for a recommendation.

All students having attended at least 80% of classes receive a certificate of course completion.

All our instructors are natives with university-level credentials and several years of experience in the field.

Our Fall and Spring semesters usually start 4 weeks after the first day of class of the regular academic semester.

Some instructors do use a textbook which needs to be purchased in addition to the course registration fee, while others develop their own curriculum.

Should a student need to postpone a private tutoring session, Owlingua requires that the notification be sent to the instructor at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled time (either online or virtual). Depending on the circumstances, and at their own discretion, the instructor may agree to postpone the session without penalty.
