Fraternity and Sorority Life Recruitment
Recruitment Info
Membership in a fraternity or sorority is through a mutual selection process, known as recruitment or intake. Participating in recruitment or intake provides an excellent opportunity to meet people and learn more about the fraternity and sorority community but in no way requires you to join a chapter.
If you are an incoming freshman, you will have an opportunity to meet with our Fraternity & Sorority Ambassadors during your Orientation. They can answer any questions you have and give you all the information you need to get involved.
Here are some upcoming events where all of our fraternities and sororities will be present; we encourage you to attend as many as you can so you can meet Greek students and learn more about their recruitment or intake process: To Be Announced

Primary Recruitment gives you the opportunity to meet and really get to know each of the six sororities, learn more about sorority life in campus, and make that final decision on which sorority is right for you. By signing up for Primary Recruitment you are not obligated to join a sorority, but will be provided a chance to know much more about all the sororities on campus.聽
During Primary Recruitment, you will be guided and assisted by sorority women, known as Recruitment Counselors, who have disassociated from their sorority to assist with Primary Recruitment. The Recruitment Counselors, along with the Panhellenic Executive Board, organize recruitment and are there to guide you throughout the week to help and assist you in making the week as successful as possible.
After each day, you will be asked to narrow down your choices and the sororities will be narrowing down their choices as well. Panhellenic Recruitment provides for a mutual selection process that benefits both the women and the sororities at the same time. We have an exciting process at 麻豆精品视频 and look forward to seeing you throughout the week and working with you.

FSL Ambassadors

The purpose of the Fraternity & Sorority Life Ambassador Program is to:
Encourage unaffiliated students to explore membership in a fraternity or sorority at 麻豆精品视频. Share accurate and accessible information with incoming students and families about fraternity and sorority life, including the recruitment and intake processes. Highlight the personal, academic, leadership, and community benefits of membership while helping challenge common misconceptions and negative stereotypes.
The Fraternity & Sorority Life Ambassador Program is currently undergoing a significant redesign to better support the educational needs of the 麻豆精品视频 community. FSL Ambassadors are governing council officers, chapter executive board members, and general community members who are committed to educating prospective members, students, families, and campus partners about the benefits, impact, and long-term value of fraternity and sorority membership. We belive in peer-to-peer education and student led advocacy.聽
Ambassadors are selected through a competitive application and training process and represent some of the strongest student leaders within the fraternity and sorority community. Participants must be second-year students or above and are prepared to share accurate information, answer questions, challenge common misconceptions, and help others better understand the fraternity and sorority experience at Florida Atlantic.
Why Join?

Fraternities and Sororities are a Home away from Home
A fraternity or sorority can help personalize your college experience by offering a scholastic support system; hands-on experience in leading committees, managing budgets, interacting with faculty and administrators: exposure to potential careers through educational programs and discussions with alumni; the opportunity to give back to the community through service projects; and close friends who will cheer you on through successes and provide support when times are tough.
Scholarship
This is one of the most important aspects of college life. Academics are emphasized by all fraternity and sorority chapters from first joining through graduation. Each fraternity and sorority provides some form of scholastic assistance, such as, study areas, tutoring, awards, study sessions and incentives such as scholarships, to challenge members to reach their full academic potential. Fraternity and sorority members usually maintain a higher grade point average than non-members. While sororities and fraternities do not hold any magical keys to scholastic success, studies have shown that members of Greek organizations are more likely to obtain a degree than non-affiliated students.
Leadership
Fraternities and sororities exemplify democracy in action. They are families, communities, and many are legal corporations operating annual budgets of over $100,000. New members live and learn to work within these communities. Officers within each chapter are elected to manage the day-to-day operations of the organization. These officers are assisted by members serving on committees and by alumni who act as advisors. In addition, many national organizations have regional and national leadership conferences where students can learn a variety of leadership skills. Fraternities and sororities provide a solid foundation in leadership training that prepares members for the demands and responsibilities needed for the future.
Community Service
Community service is an important aspect of fraternity and sorority life. It is safe to say that no other segment of the student population has dedicated more time and resources, or has raised more money for charity than the members of our Greek community. From volunteering in elementary schools, to giving bloods, to raising money for charities鈥ommunity service is a huge part of this experience.
Social Life
For many students, the fraternity and sorority social life helps to make college a more fulfilling experience. Fraternity and sorority organizations provide a calendar of social activities including formals, homecoming, skit nights, mixers, sing competitions, and other special events. Sororities and fraternities can offer more of a family atmosphere and go beyond ordinary friendships - often lasting a lifetime.
Athletics
Fraternities and sororities sponsor teams to participate in various intramural sports and in other fraternity and sorority philanthropy tournaments. Some of these sports include flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball and even dodge-ball. Fraternities and sororities also have members that are varsity athletes. These players receive great support from their brothers and sisters. Members of fraternities and sororities provide the majority of school spirit at 麻豆精品视频.
Alumni Involvement
The role of the alumni as advisor or national fraternity and sorority officers and consultants is substantial. Lifetime friendships expand beyond individual chapters to include all members of the national and international fraternity and sorority community. Alumni organizations help students network for potential employment opportunities after graduation, and keep in touch through newsletters, correspondence, meetings, and special alumni events.
