The MFA Program at 麻豆精品视频is proud to offer Community Creative Writing Workshops each semester. Classes vary, but we typically offer: Fiction, Creative Nonfiction/Memoir, and Poetry. We are also in the process of developing a Youth Community Workshop. These classes are workshop based. This means that you will read and offer comments on each other's work. Classes are taught by senior level MFA graduate students. Instructors will provide comments on your work and lead class discussion so that you get the most out of your workshop experience.

No experience is required to attend! We encourage writers of all backgrounds and skill to apply, from the seasoned memoirist听to the novice poet, you will benefit from becoming a part of a writerly community.

If you'd like to take a workshop, please email听 mfa@fau.edu 听or听 ekiley1@fau.edu 听to request a registration form and more inforrmation.听

Community Workshops are eight weeks, non-credit classes which meet one night a week for two hours.听 . Repeat participants receive a $25 discount.听

You can read a blog post听 听and听 听about the workshops. And if you'd like to see what a class would look like, check out a听 Fiction 听or听 Creative Nonfiction/Memoir 听syllabus. We look forward to reading your work!

Community Creative Writing Workshops

The Community Creative Writing Workshop is offered each semester. This course is non-credit and open to the community. It's taught by graduate students who have taken CRW 6024: Teaching Creative Writing and have successfully applied for the position. This is a wonderful opportunity to foster your own creative writing community. You'll have the ability to craft your own workshop, choosing readings and assignments that will best benefit your teaching goals for the course.

In these classes, you have the freedom to develop your own creative writing workshop. This is great for your C.V., especially if you are considering teaching creative writing after graduate school. Students in these classes are typically older, which offers a unique teaching experience. Students who teach our Community Creative Writing Workshops do so in addition to their regular ENC 1101 or 1102 classes. Instructors are paid an additional stipend for this work.听

So, are you teaching an upcoming Community Creative Writing Workshop? Are you feeling a bit anxious? Don't! take a look at a sample听 fiction 听and听 nonfiction 听syllabus. Talk to your peers who have taught the class. Check out听 听and听 听blog on the subject. Come see me. This is an enriching experience for you and your students. Get ready to have some fun!
