Students in the ARC3463 Materials & Methods of Construction 2 course recently got an up-close view of a tilt-up concrete construction project – a first for many of the students. Miller Construction Company of Fort Lauderdale provided a hard-hat tour and information session at the construction site.

Interactive field trips like this one are an excellent way for students to bridge the concepts and information they learn in the classroom with the real world of active construction. Faculty have planned several more construction site visits for the students throughout the semester.
