Centers and Institutes
Center for Acoustics and Vibrations
听in the College of Engineering and Computer Science specializes in underwater acoustics, sonar technology, structural acoustics and vibration, aero-acoustics and hydro-acoustics. Research support is provided by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research, The Naval Surface Warfare Center, The Naval Underwater Systems Center, the Naval Research Laboratory and NASA.
Center for Hydrodynamics and Physical Oceanography
听in the College of Engineering and Computer Science conducts research in ocean modeling, 铿俹w measurement and computational 铿倁id dynamics involving near shore processes, nonlinear wave mechanics, turbulent 铿俹w, and coherent vortex dynamics. Funding is supported by federal and state agencies and the National Science Foundation and the Office of Naval Research.
Center for Marine Materials
Focused on marine corrosion education and research, the听听in the College of Engineering and Computer Science is working in the areas of corrosion, materials science and energy storage. Located within FAU鈥檚 Department of Ocean Engineering, the center鈥檚 facilities include an on-campus materials laboratory and an ocean-side marine corrosion laboratory, where 铿俹wing natural seawater is available.

SeaTech enjoys a long-term partnership with the听听and its听听which extends offshore south of Port Everglades over a 18 nautical miles cross-self by 4 nautical miles along shelf region, encompassing water depth of up to over 700 nautical miles. The partnership provides extensive combined in-water test and evaluation capabilities for AUVs and other underwater systems.
